Cashless or reimbursement claim: what’s the difference?

Reviewed October 2026 · General guidance; your policy wording and insurer decide your claim.

Cashless: you repair at one of the insurer’s network workshops, and the insurer pays the workshop directly. You pay only your share (deductible, depreciation, anything not covered).

Reimbursement: you repair at any workshop, pay the full bill, then submit bills to the insurer for repayment. That takes longer.
